Hardware Recommendations for SOLIDWORKS 2019

Here are our current SOLIDWORKS 2019 hardware recommendations,

Minimum System

OS: Windows 10®, Windows 8.1® 64, or Windows 7® 64

CPU: Intel® i5 Core™ Intel® i7 Dual Core, or equivalent AMD®

Hard Drive: >250GB, 7200rpm

Graphics Card: 2GB NVIDIA® Quadro® K2100, M1000, P620 or similar

Memory: 8GB

  • This is a good system for simple parts, moderately sized assemblies and drawings.
  • Assemblies should contain less than 200 components.
  • The system is efficient for running part and assembly simulations including linear statics, thermal, frequency, fatigue, and optimization. Gap and contact simulations will run fine on small assemblies that contain simple parts. The system is sufficient for simple flow simulations.

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7 Quad Core, or Intel® Xeon™ , or equivalent AMD®

  • Use this configuration for complex parts that include advanced shapes, large patterns, shells, and more than 200 features.
  • The system is adequate for assemblies that contain 200-1,000 components.
  • The system is efficient for running part and assembly simulations including non-linear, dynamics, random vibrations along with moderate gaps and contacts. The system is sufficient for moderate flow simulations.

OS: Windows 10®, Windows 8.1® 64, or Windows 7® 64

CPU: Intel® Core™ i7 Quad Core, or Intel® Xeon™

Hard Drive: >250GB + Solid State Drive

Graphics Card:NVIDIA® Quadro® K3100, K4200, M4000 or similar Memory: 16GB – 32 GB+ (as required)

  • This configuration should be used for large assemblies that contain 1,000 – 200,000 components.
  • The system is sufficient for large complex analysis and large flow simulations.
